Business Development Specialist

The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for prospecting through the company’s lead generation channels and closing deals over the phone/virtually/in-person. A key priority of this role will be the amount of sales closed and making sure each new customer has the potential for high engagement and lifetime value (LTV). 

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Identifying and researching potential clients through various channels such as LinkedIn, industry events, referrals, and other networking opportunities.

  • Cold Outreach: Initiating contact with potential clients via cold calls, emails, and social media messaging to introduce the company's products or services.

  • Qualifying Leads: Evaluating the potential of leads to determine if they meet the company's criteria for prospective clients.

  • Scheduling Meetings: Arranging meetings or calls between potential clients and the sales team to discuss their needs and how the company's offerings can address those needs.

  • CRM Management: Maintaining accurate records of all sales activities and communications with potential clients in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

  • Market Research: Staying informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and strategies.

  • Collaboration with Sales Team: Working closely with the sales team to align on strategies, share insights, and ensure a seamless transition of qualified leads.

  • Networking: Building and maintaining professional relationships within the industry to expand the business network and uncover new opportunities.

  • Performance Tracking: Monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of business development activities and making necessary adjustments.

  • Feedback Loop: Providing feedback to the marketing and product development teams based on insights gained from interactions with potential clients to help refine marketing strategies and product offerings.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is often preferred.

  • Sales Experience: Previous experience in sales, especially in B2B (business-to-business) environments, can be highly beneficial.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively engaging with potential clients and articulating the value proposition of the company's products or services.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with potential clients and internal team members.

  • Prospecting Skills: Ability to use various prospecting strategies to identify and reach out to potential clients, including cold calling, email outreach, and social selling.

  • CRM Proficiency: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems for tracking leads, activities, and sales progress.

  • Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and sales data to inform business development strategies.

  • Negotiation Skills: Skill in negotiating with potential clients to close deals and achieve favorable terms for the company.

  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple leads and tasks efficiently.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, client needs, and company priorities.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the industry in which the company operates, including key players, competitive landscape, and market trends.

  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, marketing, and product teams to achieve common goals.

  • Continuous Learning: Willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills, including attending workshops, webinars, and industry conferences.

Compensation

Please note that this role is a 100% commission-based position. This means that your earnings will be entirely dependent on the sales you generate. There is no base salary, but the commission structure is designed to generously reward high performance. This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals with a strong sales drive and the ability to exceed sales targets.
